Lawn and Eyelet

This is a very old dress possibly from the 1800’s. It is in remarkably good condition to be so old, no holes, stains or tears. It has an old paper attached that reads: two dresses belong to Mary Ann Durell (Polly) McGlasson 1845-1905. So it had to have been some place in that range. It has tiny buttons on the…

Winter Ball Gown

The gown was borrowed by Harper’s Bazaar to be photographed for their tribute article to the V&A’s “Golden Age of Couture” exhibition, it was photographed but not published, as only a small number of pieces were illustrated in the [October] edition. Norman Hartnell was born in 1901. At a very early age it was clear that he had a great…

Tribe of Light

This antique dress has a long long long history, so I will be brief. If you are interested in further details of this exquisite, museum-quality dress, please email me for details. Bought from the owner of KOCHEE (sadly dismantled) in downtown Toronto. I paid a small fortune for it. I am selling it for a small fraction of what I…

Calico

A high waistband, two darts, an unlined bodice, a cloth tape drawstring back neck closure and a cord drawstring at the natural back waistline. This may very possibly indicate early use as a maternity gown. Acquired from the descendants of the early Worley and Wolf families of Lattimore Township in Adams County, Pennsylvania, just north of Gettysburg. Calico Calico (cached…

Glam Disco

Take a step back to the time of New York’s Studio 54, Blondie, and David Bowie. I imagine the original owner of this gown bought it with great hopes of taking a limo ride to the Big Apple for a once in a lifetime night. Original sales tags indicate the gown came from Rovner’s. This was a store in either…
