This remarkable silk dress was purchased from an ancestor of the original wearer, a Miss Emily Wilcox of Granby, CT who wore this on her wedding day on Nov. 11, 1858. Emily married Nelson O. This is a very old dress possibly from the 1800’s. It is in remarkably good condition to be so old, no holes, stains or tears.
