19th Century Doll Corset and Split Drawers

Doll Corset

Two very fine pieces of early 19th century dolls’ undergarments. These are from the Charles Darwin / William Fox family line. A copy of the family tree and also of part of the handwritten note found with these clothes will be included with the sale.

These undergarments were packed in the early 19th century by two sisters of the family. They were put in a trunk and put in the attic of their family home in Suffolk, England. There they stayed until relatively recently, when the contents of the attic were auctioned off.
