This came from a collection of antique / vintage textile pieces in the estate auction of Merwin Shelton Lodge. These pieces belonged to & were passed down through the Shelton women…Elisha Shelton 1806-1868, Beach Shelton 1830-1893, Mrs. Mary Standish & Merwin Shelton (relatives of). They were related to James B. Shelton (1776-1816) of Conneticut & Daniel B. Shelton, the former mayor of Shelton Conneticut 1933-34. Sometime after Daniel B. Shelton, the Shelton lineage moved to the Houston Tx. area & then into the Kerrville, Tx. area.
