I got this when I was in 6th grade and it carries a lot of sentimental value.
I saved all my allowance for it–a whole $100 dollars!
It even went with me to a concert!

I used to look forward to going to Craft Festival all the time to find the crafter who created this beautiful shirt sets and would buy 3 or 4 or season. However, before I got a chance to wear them, they took me off Prednisone and I began to lose weight - almost 80 lbs - so I never got to wear most of them. I am listing two this time around as we are cleaning out my closets in preparation for another potential move (due to husband losing job of 25+ years). My dear sweet husband snuck off at a craft show in 2007 and purchased this one for me and gave it to me for Xmas 2007; however we moved Jan 2008 - and we were so busy packing and flying cross country to Las Vegas (as he had to start work immediately) and I had to house hunt in 5 days - we went through the entire holiday season without barely noticing it - and who had time to dress for the occasion. So it has a great deal of sentimental value to me and I was holding onto it for that - but now that there is a chance that we may have to move, yet again, sentimental things no longer become valuable. You keep the memories in your heart, you don’t pack them and move them yet again. Logic prevails!

These two great cotton blend shirts belonged to Rachael Chapman and she was on a bowling team (in Covington Georgia). Mrs. Chapman was born in 1916, and I would date these back to the early 1960’s. I am not sure how good her bowing team was, but I know that they were ?looking good? while they bowled.

I used to wear this because George Fury, Australian Touring Car Championship racer used to wear one !

The guy in the store who sold this to me told me quite an interesting story about the artist relating to Kurt Cobain that I can’t confirm.

My best friend got it for me last Christmas and she worships him so don’t freak out and send me hate mail.

My to-be husband at the time and my new monther-in-law both sent a gift to my lingerie shower. I opened the gift from my mother-in-law and saw this item that I really had hoped to recieve! I was excited! Later on, at the last gift, I discovered my fiance had bought the same exact lingerie. Like mother like son?? haha.

This men’s dress shirt is over 100 years old! This is still new in package. The package was even in excellent condition, until I tore the package a bit by photographing for this auction! My grandfather had several of these shirts in a suitcase from his father from a trip from South Africa to America. The history of this shirt dates from 1827-1900. This is a Cluett Peabody & Company Made in the USA shirt.

I worked for the company that made these buttons and the funny story of it is, the order placed for these buttons was put in by a counterfeiter of Coca Cola jeans… I guess it wasnt funny to the company who had made several hundred thousand of these button, and had to destroy them… but still. I thought it would be nice to have a souvenir of the great button fiasco and have held on to them for 25 years. LOL
