…she got a job as a barmaid in a gay bar, and became very popular because of her a) bubbly personality and b) her unusual frame: 5′4″ tall, measurements 34DD, 23, 34″. (and yes, they’re real). After awhile, she was encouraged to get on stage and introduce the live entertainment, as “Le’ Lady Laye” or “Hoochine” (pronounced the French way, i.e. ‘oosheen). Last summer she left the bar and is now going to school to get a degree as a nutritionist. Sadly, nutritionists are not known to ply their trade in 4-inch heels.

…at the Gordon Solie Motherfucker reunion two years, I saw this shirt. I bought it. I later had a few drinks. Saw the same shirt and wanted it (not remembering that I had previously bought it). So bought it again. In my stupor the next morning, I discovered I had two. Go figure.

I had a dream several months ago (not MLK “I have a dream, ” but “If you build it, they will come Field of Dreams” kind of dream) that I had access to a mansion full of stuff to sell. As long as I could carry the stuff out of the place, I was allowed to sell it. In this dream, I had just picked up a large box of men’s ties when I heard a voice tell me that I was a big success and did not have to worry about money anymore, and then I woke up. Well, shortly after that, in real life, I did indeed gain access to literally millions of products to sell - I did not know I would have such an opportunity at the time I had this dream.

I believe it belonged to my dear late mother when she was young…so that would be the late 1920’s or 30’s. She sang in local operas and on the radio and I can just see her carrying this fancy beauty!
****OUR SAD STORY…one that I know too many are going through right now…MY HUSBAND WENT TO WORK ON MARCH 16TH…ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT THE 45 YEAR OLD COMPANY THAT HE’D WORKED FOR FOR OVER 10 YEARS WAS CLOSING…THAT DAY! NO WARNING! HE HAS WORKED HARD ALL OF HIS LIFE AND HAS ALWAYS HAD A GREAT ATTITUDE TOWARDS HIS FELLOW WORKERS. HE HAS STILL NOT RECEIVED HIS FIRST UNEMPLOYMENT CHECK (TODAY IS APRIL 5th)! I knew we were trying to get pregnant, so the practical side of my brain said that I shouldn’t buy such a nice slim fitting skirt with pregnancy on the horizon but then the superstitious side of my brain said that if I denied myself the skirt, then I’d surely not get pregnant. So I bought it as a reverse jinx (which, admittedly, sounds sort of zany) … but it worked like a charm. I was pregnant with twins within three months of buying the skirt.

My Husband used to be a police officer which meant alot of hours on his feet especially if he worked extra security Jobs such as the one he had at SAMS Warehouse. He always complained of back pain from being on his feet alot. Low and behold, his mother caught wind of his ailment. The very next Christmas she took it upon herself to buy my husband this wonderful pair of shoes. Keep in mind my husband was only 32 at the time…not 62. He immediatlety started laughing when he opened this gift because he just new he had opened his 82 year old grandfathers present by mistake. IT WAS NO MISTAKE and his mother was SO proud of herself. To this day I still get a good laugh when we talk about the unveiling of the shoes…LOL.

This is the cold hard facts. My husband is very ill and I am his care taker and do not have time for dodling around with a bunch of dolls and all that I have that goes with them. My husband wants to go to Baton Rouge to the Easter Encampment at Jimmy Swaggarts church. I decided it was time for all of my dolls and their accessories to go to cover the expenses of this trip. Because of his condition it is going to be a costly trip and probably his last. .
